Henshin, Hero! is the exciting new game from the SPRUG Workshop, detailing the adventures of a group of teenagers as they . . . well, it's about the Actors and Studio behind a low-budget Sentai Television Show.

The Players take the roll of the Actors, who are playing Characters, as they attempt to build Star Power, defeat evil, dramatically fly away after they get hit with a dozen spark packs, and hope the medical insurance is good because someone just screwed up a stunt.

Game is a simplistic D6 system emphasizing "The Story" over the mechanics. Simply roll under one of the Actor's Talents: Acting, Skills, or Stunt to succeed. Failure is accounted for, as its written in the script for you to fail miserably and look like an idiot on camera on the televisions of millions.

. . . Yeah, the Producer isn't going to like that one bit.

If this raises enough money, I'll be able to actually get it to have a proper budget.  Any feedback is appreciated for those who do purchase it, I will update it if there is interest / feedback.

I might be missing something, but what does Star Power actually do? All I can find is that it lets the actor deal more damage, but it's not explained how. Is it just a damage modifier?

Star Power is pretty much a "Damage Modifier" when dealing with enemies. The goal being a dual-natured attribute of both the Actor's -professional- threat (as if it dips below zero the show loses budget) and being able to deal with monsters who are often pretty tough.

It's been a long time since I've gone over this game. Perhaps I should clean things up and finally integrate some ideas from its  "Sequel" game. That wouldn't be entirely remiss idea. Thank you for the comment, I'll see what I can do.

If you do go back to this game, might I recommend changing the title, maybe to something like "Sentai Studio" or something? "Henshin, Hero!" isn't really easy to google, and I would love to see if there are people who did actual play podcasts of this.
